Below are some words that have been written about us both online and in printed matter:
From the best and most excellent site on the net, Soundsxp.com, {a site run entirely by Special Olympians} they had this to say about Eceloe Mountain: "Oh dear....after the first listen.....it's not bad
actually.....
stuff"
No.8, 'Bees of the Future', from Visions of Eceloe Mountain Highly-creative, overexcited, aurally-hyperactive Hoovers & Sledgehammers are shit-hot in these quarters: Visions from Eceloe Mountain was a gleeful
find of 2008, snapped up free from their website which I¹ve taken to haunting like waif in search of alms-tunes. Boasting the most squeegee use of guitar pedals all year and more bass-love than a turkey baster, they just do not give a fuck for any semblance of Right, Done, Standard or Correct and I fucking love them for it. Bring on the beards, glitter and gyropters
Music, as we all know, falls into a number of easily defined categories — genres, if you will. These 'genre' labels will often tell you things like whether or not the musicians are into tahini (the addition of the arpeggiated fifth is a dead giveaway), or if their tastes err more on the fibre-rich cereal side (do I really have to explain?), which is helpful when making an informed record purchase. Visions From Eceloe Mountain suggests heavy use of kimberley biscuits, as well as other Jacob's sweetmeats. You can hear the sticky, gingery little mounds of pleasure punctuating the odd cymbal crash or gumming up Robert Crumb's slide guitar solo. Elsewhere, mikados dominate the Talking Heads-flavoured Talking Surreal —and fuck me if there aren't fig roll crumbs all over Bees Of The Future. Like
biscuits? You'll love H&S. 4/5 Steve McMullin
I gotta agree that they’re unsung heroes on the music circuit, Fight Like Apes are huge fans and chose them to perform at their curation of Doyle’s Ruby Sessions in December(-ish?). Visions from Eceloe Mountain was a real gem of a find last year, given away as a free download on the Drunken Lust website and is still free to download.
